BJJ is primarily a ground-based martial art. BJJ focuses on techniques that use optimal positioning, leverage, and pressure to submit or control an opponent. We are dedicated to offering the best training in BJJ, and we are proudly affiliated under the renowned 4th degree black belt, Roy Dean. All skill levels are welcome to our classes.
Our affiliation with Roy Dean, a highly respected figure in the world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, speaks volumes about the quality of our training. Under this esteemed affiliation, you can rest assured that you will receive authentic and comprehensive instruction from experienced practitioners, adhering to traditional techniques and values.
We take pride in having a team consisting of expert instructors, some of whom have over 14 years of expertise in the sport. While we provide traditional instruction, we are adaptable and attentive, making adjustments that are best for our students. Our enthusiasm for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shines through in every class, fostering a positive learning atmosphere for practitioners of all skill levels.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced grappler, our school welcomes all. We believe in the power of inclusion and are dedicated to assisting each student in achieving their individual goals within a supportive environment. We take great pride in creating a setting where members feel at ease and enjoy attending class.
Personal attention from instructors is essential to improve your skills effectively. Our smaller class sizes allow us to focus on each student and provide valuable feedback.
Wondering what you need to bring? If you sign up for our Free Trial, standard workout clothes work perfectly fine! Jewelry and piercings stay off the mats to protect yourself and training partners. Upon joining the program, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi is required for our gi classes. We can help you buy a gi or guide you to the best brand to invest in.
The answer varies depending on the individual. Students who have done jiu jitsu or have a wrestling or judo background can typically roll right away (unless otherwise told). Students with no grappling experience will have to wait before beginning. We make new students wait to ensure everyone's safety, and will allow new students to become better acquainted with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu before jumping straight in. When Devin (head instructor) gives the greenlight, we typically advise novice grapplers to choose upper-level (non-white belt) partners to start because they have more experience and control.
