What To Expect

Expect to learn one of the most effective striking systems in the world. Muay Thai is a striking style that has recently exploded in its popularity due to it's exciting and fast-paced style. Check out our YouTube content or follow us on social media Stories to get a glimpse of what class is like. Expect to be challenged physically and mentally when learning this sport.

What Makes Our Instruction Unique?

We have to stress that this is not a cardio kickboxing class. We place an emphasis on proper form and the effective application of strikes and combinations that work. Some of the combinations we teach have been tried and tested in actual fights or during live sparring. While we do not offer a cardio kickboxing class, you will undoubtedly work up a sweat in our classes.

What's the Difference Between Glove Drilling & Pad Work?

Glove drilling involves wearing only gloves and shin guards, whereas pad work requires a partner to use pads to hit. Pad work is for technical practice, whereas glove drilling is the technical application without having to spar. Glove drilling provides a dynamic aspect to the learning process since people move and react differently than when holding pads.

When Do I Get To Spar?

The answer is very dependent on the individual. If you have previous striking experience, the head Coach (Devin) will decide whether you are fit for joining in Friday night sparring. Those who are absolutely new to striking will need to learn fundamental techniques and demonstrate in class that they are ready to spar. This is a standard we have set to ensure everyone's safety.

Can I Wear Muay Thai Shorts?

Unless you earned your shorts at another gym or have had a Muay Thai fight, please do not wear Muay Thai shorts. At our gym, the Muay Thai shorts must be earned by either testing for the shorts or by fighting. Please wear regular workout bottoms to class.

Requirements for Attending Class

Wondering what you need to bring? If you sign up for our Free Trial, standard workout clothes work perfectly fine! If you have boxing gloves and shin guards, please bring those in. Otherwise, we do have gloves you can use. For hygenic purposes, we require you to purchase your own gloves and shin guards upon joining.
